最近，一直以來都很想孩子考入國際學校的學生又回來找我了。其實本來都不太想再替他補習。我上次教他英文數學，今次教他英文。上課前，我和家長會面，談談教學方向，盼望了解一下為何上次沒有被取錄。談話期間，我嘗試控制自己的情緒，誓要有禮的對待顧客。
開始上課了，我為想考入n年級的他教授低一年級的練習，打算從建立信心開始，試試水溫。閱讀理解方面，由於他有些選擇題未能正確地回答，我便不清楚他能否完全看懂課文。然而，短答題目才是重點...
我要求他先向我解釋每道題目所問的，才開始作答，免得浪費筆墨。原來他不曉得回答問題是因為他根本不能解通每個單詞的意思，就連road和because等簡單單詞都不曉得，更何況整句句子呢？
我不斷控制自己，要盡量表現得firm yet friendly，但最後還是擔任那個刻薄的角色。
學習，是一段漫長的道路。
面對著這樣的情景，為了自己，為了孩子，我還是勸你們死心，繼續勉強地在中文小學生存啦。
有些人本來就不是讀書的材料.. 精心打算過後，都仍會有不能彌補的先天性不足。

雙語問題 - Bilingualism and Code switching

1. Immersion Programme Strategy
Immersion programmes have been a popular way to teach French in Canada for many years. It can also be applied to Chinese learning effectively. My parents adopt this method.
Example:
School as an English only environment, supported by teachers.
Home as a Chinese only environment, supported by parents.
Effectiveness:
It varies among different users. However, at the end of the day, stakeholders involved in initiating and sustaining the programme must be firm (yet friendly) and persevere throughout the process.
