雙語問題 - Bilingualism and Code switching
Many readers have shown concern regarding their children's ability to learn Chinese/English after attending international schools.
1. Immersion Programme Strategy
Immersion programmes have been a popular way to teach French in Canada for many years. It can also be applied to Chinese learning effectively. My parents adopt this method.
Example:
School as an English only environment, supported by teachers.
Home as a Chinese only environment, supported by parents.
Effectiveness:
It varies among different users. However, at the end of the day, stakeholders involved in initiating and sustaining the programme must be firm (yet friendly) and persevere throughout the process.

2. Bilingualism and Code switching
Some people tend to do a lot of 'code switching' - i.e. switching between languages incautiously when they speak.
